Ventilation in animal husbandry
Improve animal welfare on farms with Evel air fans. Ensure proper barn ventilation and reduce energy costs for an optimal livestock environment.
Environment type
Livestock farms of various types (cattle, pigs, poultry…)
Features
Environments designed and structured to promote livestock production while respecting animal welfare.
Benefits
- Animal Welfare
- Welfare and improved conditions for operators
- Energy saving: in summer ventilation of the barn at very low cost, in winter allows drying of bedding
Evel manufactures and markets HVLS (High Volume Low Speed) fans and axial fans for the livestock sector: these are products that can guarantee the animal the right ventilation system that preserves it from stressful situations and the risk of disease.
In fact, Evel has always had an eye on animal welfare: Evel ceiling fans can be used in the livestock field, on both cattle and pig farms. Due to their ability to minimize air stratification and equalize temperature by moving and pushing a large amount of warm air downward, they ensure better room livability, both in the summer and winter seasons.
With the installation of HVLS ceiling fans in barns, pigsties, poultry houses, etc., animals enjoy cooler, less heavy air in summer without sudden drops in production due to mugginess. In addition, due to their destratification ability, Evel ceiling fans make the air more breathable for both animals and operators, as they also contribute to the elimination of odors.
The resulting air recirculation also reduces the presence of pathogenic organisms, humidity, and gas emissions, and, consequently, results in an animal with a lower risk of disease.
Aiming for an Evel air destratifier in animal husbandry means making a winning choice that makes it possible to maintain an adequate microclimate inside the barn that is essential for the well-being of the animal, which, growing in a healthier and more comfortable environment, lives better and longer, producing greater quantities and higher quality.
Improved environmental conditions, increased production and animal welfare: excellent performance with very low energy consumption.
On dairy cattle farms, in particular, proper ventilation within a barn is an essential factor for animal welfare that can profoundly affect the productive and reproductive capacity of the cow and the quality of the milk produced.
High temperatures, in fact, pose a threat to cattle welfare that absolutely cannot be underestimated given the important consequences it can entail (increased heart rate, increased water consumption, increased body temperature) that can go as far as to bring about real hormonal changes in the animal.
Therefore, the barn must be equipped with efficient ventilation systems that can cool the environment while allowing air recirculation to eliminate pathogenic organisms, moisture and gas emissions.
Ventilation of the barn ensures, in all seasons, constant recirculation of air and removal of pathogenic organisms, dust, moisture and heat: if the ventilation system is inadequate, there is a risk of respiratory disease and mastitis, resulting in animal suffering and production losses.
